Well, when I was doing my outline, I figured a solution for this but now I dont think that is going to be enough. So, help?
Basically, my characters are in a parallel world where an organization (something like Hydra if you watch SHiELD) is sending all the criminals and people that get in their way to other parallel words via a mirror. Now, my solution to stop it would be to destroy the mirrors. But they have to be destroyed on that side so they dont have access. Meaning my characters would have to stay on that world.
They are ok with that, the problem is they would have a organization with a lot of influence hunting them down. My initial solution was to get to the media, that the public would know so they wouldnt be able to touch them without severe consecuences.
Would that be enough? Any other solutions ?
P.D: the mirros werent built by either society, it was an old civilization that isnt around anymore

It depends on if the public knows about the organization. It won't help if your heroes go to the media with a story that no one will believe. You also want to consider if the organization has already infiltrated the media / presented an untouchable respectable front. They are sending criminals away, right? The general populace might be okay with that. So what if a few others the organization claims are potential criminals get sent away too?
I'd say, certainly let them try to go to the media. It could add another layer of conflict. Ultimately, they'll probably have to go into hiding, change their identities and everything, live in some remote corner of the world until they can figure out a way to stop the organization entirely.

Not to get too fringe, but could one of the people they've sent to this other world be an ally to the main characters? Someone like them sent over because they were in their way? Maybe they could build a portal to help the characters get back to their true homes, but it would need something special and only work the once?

Or could there be some kind of tit-for-tat established between the good guys and bad guys? Like, "your children are over there, and if you harm me, my side will make sure they know and grow up hating you" or "we both want to get back over there, let's call a truce while we work on it together" where the good guy isn't actually working on trying to get back, but is really secretly sabotaging attempts to repair the mirrors?
