Hi everyone! I'm Mysticknightsofscotland / TheReviewDragon.
I haven't done a forum in ages... And it's my first serious attempt at NaNoWriMo, by which I mean my first time attempting it while surrounding myself with all possible means of support because previous attempts done on my lonesome only lasted a week at best. I'm writing an original that I started many years ago. It's getting a major overhaul to fill in the gaps I left by jumping around to whatever scene I felt like writing.
It's going to be epic. Seriously, it's like Once. I've got the main plotline (present), that's influenced by the past (recent history), with a thread of legend (ancient history) lending dimension to the culture and paralleling the main plot.
Also, I apparently have a type. You don't even have to guess what. The main anti-hero is just as complicated and angst-magnetic as Rumple. And I created him long before Once started and I became a Dearie.

Hi! I'm in the same boat as you regarding trying to do NaNo by myself. Your story sounds really interesting! I'm looking forward to seeing how you tie different historical timelines with a fictional story.

It's all in a fantasy world, haha! It would be so much easier if I didn't have to do worldbuilding! I keep surprising myself with how I keep tying more things into it. Like, I do this extra thing as AU fun, but then end up working it in anyway!
FYI: Just made my avatar! It's about as close as I can get to my much-beloved anti-hero, but on here, he comes out kinda androgynous. You also can't see his pointy ears and have decent hair at the same time. :-( And I really wish I could remove the snow on the ground. Oh well.

World building is the hardest part about fantasy/sci-fi novels. I really want to write one myself someday, maybe with a bit of a BatB bent, but the world building is SUCH a hang up. How to make it interesting and yet different from all the other fantasy novels I've read?

Ugh yes; worldbuilding is a bitch haha. XD I prefer fanfics because I'm lazy I suppose.
And like you, I haven't been on a forum in ages. Talk about a throwback thursday :-P
